工研院開發的 "智慧視覺機器人系統 (Intelligent Vision System for Companion Robots)" 在 CES 2017 亮相，其技術重點在於機器人結合深度視覺感測技術，運用 AI 學習西洋棋戰術，讓機器人能夠與人對弈，透過視覺系統偵測棋盤、看見對手棋路，根據視覺所得到的資訊快速判斷並採取回應，同時自主決定應驅動哪隻手臂夾取、執放與移動棋子，強調「眼手協調」運用，每個動作都相當精準不閃失。
